Your Thoughts Can Change Your Life

Everything in the world begins and happens as a result of the power of thoughts. Almost everything around you started life as a thought.

‘Your beliefs become your thoughts,

Your thoughts become your words,

Your words become your actions,

Your actions become your habits,

Your habits become your values,

Your values become your destiny.’

Gandhi

The combination of your thoughts and emotions mould and shape your life physically, financially, emotionally and spiritually. But did you know that you can change your mind, transform your life, and create new habits just by integrating new thoughts?

You have the power to decide how you live just by altering the thoughts in your mind. To do this, you need to pay attention to the most common thoughts you have. Are they negative or positive? Do it they make you happy? Or do they put you into a negative cycle?

Once you become aware of your predominant thought patterns, you can replace them with the things you want to think about.

Your thoughts are a force, a frequency, and a vital energy, which you take control of and make work for you.

To change reality, you need to have persistent and positive thoughts that are strong enough to change your actions.

In other words, before your thoughts can change your reality, they must change you.

Did you know?

  • Changing your thinking habits will change how you feel, how you act, and how you react.
  • Inner change will lead to outer change.

Changing the way you think is not easy, but it is definitely worth the effort. Here are a few steps to learning how to take control of your thoughts.

1. Become conscious of your thoughts

The first step to changing your thoughts is to recognise and understand how and what you think now. Start by looking at what thoughts come into your mind and how they make you feel.

Deep down in the recesses of our minds, lurk many thoughts and feelings that we’d like to deny having. However, by suppressing thoughts, you effectively trick yourself into believing that these undesirable feelings actually are not a part of who you are. The truth is, they are.

The more upsetting we find a feeling, the greater the impulse to project it onto someone else. For example, when we feel insecure about an aspect of ourselves, we seek out ways to identify some insecurity in other people. This is often the case with bullying behaviour, whereby a bully will target the insecurities of others to avoid dealing with his/her own concerns. Another example is that, in an attempt to mask anger, some people project it onto those they are angry with.

The first step to dealing with negative thoughts and feelings is to recognise them. When you are capable of facing unwelcome feelings and thoughts head on, you’ll find they are far less draining or damaging in the long term.

Once you start to become more aware of your thoughts, you’ll also begin to change how you behave as well. https://www.deeph.io/what-do-you-feed-your-mind/

2. Stop before you think

Every day we have around 60,000 thoughts pass through our minds. Most of them are the same ones we have every day, and most of them are negative.

We choose to spend our lives worrying about what the future might bring, complaining about our present circumstances and thinking about what’s missing in our lives. We also choose to spend a great deal of our time thinking about past situations and regrets, asking ourselves ‘what if?’.

Once you are aware of these thoughts, instead of letting them continue, stop them and consider what thoughts you are allowing to enter your consciousness. You can then choose the ones which you feel are good for you.

Choose the best thoughts for yourself that include hope, kindness, compassion, joy, gratitude, and love.

3. Make a decision

Shift your attention from the things that are making you unhappy to the things that bring you peace of mind and happiness.

Always put your focus and energy into the things you want for yourself and which you believe will make you happy.

To effectively reframe your thinking, consider who you are becoming. Start by focusing on your progress and the current path you are on. You might begin by saying to yourself ‘I am a work in progress, and that’s OK.’ By pointing yourself in the direction of personal growth, you make positive changes both realistic and achievable. https://www.deeph.io/how-your-mind-can-transform-your-body/

We are, after all, the storytellers of our own lives. How we navigate, each day is entirely up to us.
